Measure the building, then design for it

We survey the premises rather than estimating from a floor plan. Brick, plasterboard, glass, lift shafts, cool rooms and mezzanines all behave differently, and a design that ignores them is guesswork with equipment attached.

Then we separate the layers. The firewall handles security and traffic, the switching handles the wired backbone, and the wireless handles coverage — each sized for the number of devices you actually run, including the ones nobody counts like printers, cameras and card readers.

The result is a network you can reason about. When something is slow afterwards, we can tell you which layer is responsible instead of replacing hardware until the complaints stop.

FAQ

Questions about networks and Wi-Fi

Occasionally that is genuinely the answer. More often adding one to a design that already has problems makes things worse, because overlapping access points compete and devices hold onto the wrong one. That is why we measure before recommending equipment.

They get confused constantly. Wi-Fi is how a device reaches your network; the internet connection is how your network reaches the outside world. Either can be the bottleneck, and so can the wired switching in between. Measuring tells you which, and it is frequently not the one people assumed.

For a handful of people in a small open space, consumer hardware can be adequate. Beyond that, the difference shows up in how many devices can connect at once, how cleanly they move between access points, and whether you can separate guests from your systems. Those are the limits people hit.

Access point and firewall work is usually a short outage scheduled outside working hours. Cabling is more invasive and is planned in stages or after hours. You will have the schedule before anything starts.

We design the cabling requirement and coordinate the installation, working with licensed cablers where the work requires it. You deal with us rather than managing trades directly.
